WS-FTP - Cute-FTP - Fetch, Microsoft FrontPage 98/2000 etc...

Commonly asked questions.
I uploaded my site but can't see it in the browser?
Our server creates an index.html page when we set you're folder up. make sure your homepage is titled "index.html". If it's index.htm you will not be able to see your uploaded home page. Just rename your file "index.html and reload it. Make sure you also hit reload or refresh in your browser so you can see new changes. NEW ACCOUNTS WHERE THE NAME IS NOT POINTED YET USE:

 CuteFTP" "WS-FTP" "Fetch"
Be aware of the "Directory Structure"

When you log in, you'll be IN a folder called "web" (load your main web site in this folder.) Go back in the document tree 1 level and you will then see folders for additional stats logs and more.

  • Microsoft FrontPage 98/2000 (make sure you have FrontPage extensions installed!)
Publishing your web site with MS FrontPage is just fine. However, if you decide to start uploading from an FTP client like WS-FTP after you have already been publishing with MS FP, you will corrupt your folder and it will need to be re-set. There is also the possibility of having to remove all of your web site content to reactivate the extensions.
